I nstalled
at the front entrance rotunda of the new Bridgton Hospital
are six distinctive 'pods' of granite bricks. In 2001, the
'Walkway of Honor' started as a way for donors to make a gift
to the capital campaign that built the new Bridgton Hospital.
A donor gift of $1,000 or more would then be recognized through
a beautifully hand engraved granite brick installed in the
Walkway. More than 300 granite bricks were engraved and installed,
truly a lifetime recognition gift! When the Walkway was created
we left more than 100 bricks available for future purchases
and the program continues to be popular today. Celebrating
a marriage, birth, anniversary, as a memorial, special honor
or dedication, the reasons to purchase a gift are countless
- and many are quite creative. The Walkway is a favorite of
visitors who are often seen slowly walking the paths to read
donor sentiments.

Gift Opportunities in our Beautiful Meditation
Garden and on our Campus
Memorial Gifts:
Bridgton Hospital has a landscaping plan that includes perennial
plants, shrubs and trees. Making a
living gift (links to Make a Gift page) to our gardens will
forever remember your loved one.
There are four levels of gifts:
- $50 Perennial Plant
- $100 Evergreen Shrub
- $250 Tree (small)
- $500 Tree (large)
Your charitable gift includes the purchase of the plant,
its installation in a garden area, and its care. Bridgton
Hospital maintains a landscape map of the campus identifying
where your free, shrub or plant is located, the person it
has been planted in honor of, and who donated the funds for
the gift. Our special announcement card is sent to the family
of the memorial honoree letting them know of your thoughtful
generosity.
Gifts less than $50 are added to the Annual Fund and help
to maintain the gardens around the hospital
